Opening Alert: Abstraction in Color

Lee Oberlander August 28, 2019

Hope you can join me at my big fall exhibition, featuring some of my favorite pieces alongside sculptures by one of my mentors, David Gista. 25% of all sales will benefit a cause close to my heart, the Digestive Health Foundation.

See you there!

Encaustic or en-paw-stic?

Lee Oberlander October 9, 2018

A couple relocating from Chicago to New Jersey is leaving the Windy City with a dog that stole the hearts of all of their friends. As a goodbye gift, the friends commissioned an encaustic painting of the one and only Leroy Popcorn, a soulful and cuddly senior rescue who loves nothing more than 5pm dinner and a good nap. I love using this mixed media technique to add some texture, depth and a new perspective to beloved and iconic photos.

Thank you, River Bank Lofts Gallery

Lee Oberlander September 27, 2018

Kellie Siegel is the expert curator behind River Bank Lofts Gallery at 550 N. Kingsbury St. in Chicago. It was a privilege to participate in one of her shows for the second time, and in the company of such talented fellow artists like Jane Carney, Stacy Gore, Ted Jarmakowicz, Michael McKee, Zore 64 and ZorZorZor. You can see from the video that we had a great crowd and I am thrilled that eight of my pieces have found new homes.

Acrylic diptych hits New York

Lee Oberlander June 23, 2018

A New York couple commissioned these paintings for their dining room. In a very collaborative process, we traded ideas about color, size, tone and movement to create the perfect showpiece for their home. It’s always a pleasure to work with buyers on concepting artwork that makes sense for their lives and most importantly, makes them happy!
